I just thought I'd remind eveyone that the Feast Eternal re-issue of "Prisons of Flesh" including two new songs will hit stores on 4/3. It should actually make it into some FYE, Best Buy and some other chain stores.
I talked to Matt the other day and he said they will begin recording for the next album "With Fire" this week.

Let me know what you think of these guys also. Here is a link that you can hear them http://myspace.com/prisonsofflesh

I got my re-issue of "prisons of the Flesh" earily. I thought i'd pass on what I think of it.
Well to start, it is just a good old death metal album definately in the style of earily Mortification albums and Vengeance Rising. I have the original 2000 release and I was suprised how much better the re mastering of it brought out the vocals and the guitar work. Also as a bonus there are two new tracks to tide over fans until the release of "With Fire". The new tracks are great, they still fit in with the rest of the album but there is obviuosily a lot of growth musically between the original songs and the bonus tracks, 7 years, especailly with the guitar work. The new tracks definately have me interested in the new full length from these guys.

Tonight we pretty much got the drum sound the way we want to have it. Man is this tricky. 11 microphones, 2 triggers (bass drums) and adjusting the bleed of the mics makes for a long night. We will be meeting for 3 nights a week and may boost up to 4 soon to comlete this album. More later.....

Tonight we recorded the drum tracks for our second and third song. Had to do alot of takes on the second song. Many takes but I think we got them pretty good. If you ever recorded music like this even a little stick hit can screw up the entire song. I just hate it when you get to the end of a real good take and in the last few measures you screw up. I hate that....!

Well everyone....tonight we recorded 2 new tracks so we have a total of 6 tracks with drums only and scratch guitars. After we have all the drum tracks recorded I will sit back and take a few weeks off as I watch TJ sweat and bleed for all of you too.....wuhahahaaaaaa...! I have track samples but they are only raw signal and no mixing or faders yet. Maybe I will post something up soon to give a teaser taste. Boy I am sure glad we have a 32 track studio...! God bless you guys.....!

Here is the latest Post from Matt of Feast Eternal

4/20
Hello....Tonight we finished another songs drum tracks. We had to stop early because my 2 year old daughter Rachael had a 102 degree fever and went to bed quite early after we got the fever down. We didn't want to wake her since she really needs her rest. We talked a bit about what we are going to do for harmonies and solos on the song we recorded tonight. It took about 5 tries to be satisfied with the outcome.

Tonight we recorded drum tracks on 3 more songs. We had our good friend Ben (who does alot of promotion for the band) stop by and visit and have a listen to the new stuff. One more song to record drum tracks to and I will sit behind the board sipping a fine root beer while watching TJ rip the strings to shreds while the spotlight bakes him for a bit. I may even baste him in butter and turn the spit from time to time. LOL....!

The new stuff is awesome i am looking forward to the finished product

I missed a couple blogs here that include samples of the works in progress, feel free to check them out but remember they are not finished products. And let me know what you think i can pass them onto Matt

When you listen remember:

1. Drum track only with SCRATCH GUITARS (not complete guitar parts)
2. No harmonies or solos added yet
3. Nothing Mastered including drums
4. No vocals as of yet (thats last)
5. Flat signal only.

Hope you enjoy

And here is the other one
The drums are mixed a bit here and there is some harmonies added. The second harmony is changing a bit. NO vocals yet so some of the verse/chorus parts might seem kind of long. Just imagine the spittle spewing and the synchronous head banging from the crowd....LOL.

Hope you guys like it......!

Here is the latest blog from Matt of Feast Eternal. He included a couple picts of his drums. Poor drums he really beats on them I have seen it, it is inhumane.

Phase one of "WITH FIRE" is complete. On to recording guitars, bass and vocals. Now TJ gets to be under the heat lamp and sweat and bleed for you all.

Hello all metalheads....! Tonight we went ahead and broke down the drum room walls (which are modular) and created our room for the guitar amps and vocals, since the drums are all recorded for "With Fire". We then went through the process of positioning the microphones and adjusting levels for recording the rythm guitars. We found the sweet spot for the guitars and proceeded to record all rythm guitar tracks for the first song. Continue to please pray for the process. It is tedious and sometimes can get a bit frusterating....! God bless you all...!

Hello,

We finished the rythm tracks for another 3 songs tonight and added some harmonies for the one song. Here is a sample for you all.

http://feasteternal.com/track3scratch.mp3

Remember this is not even mixed and that is why the guitars are too quiet and the drums are real loud. This will change for sure. NO VOCALS yet either or bass. All this comes later....!
