them are my 2 favorites...

One Bad Pig is good but from the late 80's early 90's.

Crucified is a band that has been around for many many years!

I really couldn't tell you if there is a sight with sound clips or not.

Wished I could help you with that.

You know... I am not an expert on Punk Rock bands... but the true Punk Rockers were the Sex Pistols, Johnny Rotton, Ramones, ect...

I think for Christian bands that Dogwood, FBS, Flatfoot56, Onebadpig... but I don't really know... some would probably laugh at me, lol

I'm not really sure what punk is either, but I like the song, "Punk Rawk Show," by MHPH.

Would 38th Paralell possibly fall into the punk catagory? At least a couple of their songs sound like punk. I'd like to check out some Christian punk rock music.

i totally concur, why wasn't The Clash brought up earlier?

when i was at ChristianPunks.com when they used to have a messageboard, there was all this hype about what was punk and what was not... ah, but this topic made it all nostaglia =D

but yeah, musically-speaking, stuff like Hawk Nelson, Relient K and whatnot, though while they're good musically, is definitely not punk [but people have different views, so if you really really want to say it is... i really don't care] - moreso poprock/poppunk. Underoath just does not fit into this category, really. but it's good stuff.

on the Christian side, as mentioned, bands like The Crucified [those were the days], Flatfoot, Dogwood, getting into some other stuff like The Scarred, The Deal, Hanover Saints, The Incited... oh, where did my memory go...

on the secular side, faves include The Clash [the only band that matters], Sex Pistols [some of their stuff, they were too much "no future" crap for my liking], The Ramones [sort of; i wasn't impressed with their take on The Clash's work], UK Subs, Green Day [now and then; they've strayed a wee bit to the pop-punk side moreso], The Pogues, The Vandals...

...why is it that so many bands start with 'The'? oh well.

Samo... I know the people at Christianpunks.com I used to talk to them on the phone about how we were going to network together... but it never happened which is a bummer... actually we presented to them a show for thier site called the Christian Punks Show... but it never got off the ground cause their forum dissbanned.

aw, bummer. that woulda been cool, but i know things got chaotic over there, especially for Amanda and Joe with 2 kids, and people being... somewhat stupid now and then on the forum it was cool, but it got pretty big.

Old School: The Lead (more thrash/hardcore, but very punky)
Undercover (Especially Branded or Balance of Power...more modern rock than punk)
Nobody Special (really old-school!)
Altar Boys (more middle-of-the-road garage band, but some punk influence)
ONE BAD PIG (more bluesy thrash/metal than punk, but that was their chosen genre)

New School: Showbread (punk with a flash of hardcore)
Squad Five-O (I guess they've gone more straight-up rock & roll)
Huntingtons (Oh, YEAH!!  Did The Ramones get saved, or something?    Too bad they've called it a day)
Ghoti Hook (I miss those kids!)
MXPX

Peace,

Jeff

Dare I mention Lust Control?

Even less musically adept than One Bad Pig, these boys tackled subjects that caused sailors to blush.  Got to admire their chutzpah...

Peace,

Jeff
