As a hard rock/metal/grunge/speed metal listener...I fail to see the appeal of hardcore. I see people like DF that want to learn to like hardcore. I've listened to "hardcore" bands...and the only think I've heard different between it and my own stuff is growling, screaming lyrics. Is that basically it?

I think there is good harcore and bad hardcore, I listen to a lot of the versoins of hardcore, there are a bunch of diffrent sub-genres in it too but i prefer Metal core. Hard core with a metal edge. Honestly I dont see a huge diffrence between thrash and hardcore and there a lot of elements that are in Hardcore from grunge, punk, and speed metal. But it is true vocals are pretty much the cookie monster vocals.
