I seen him this year at Salem Oregon, where he is from... it was a lot of fun. To me he is the Grandfather of Christian Rock N Roll!

I got the 70 Miles from Lebanon DVD. Does that count as live? I've gotta get his whole selection of 'ator CDs (Agtitator, Instigator...). I sure would have liked to have gone to that last concert.
By the way, if anyone here DOESN'T know Larry Norman, your collection is not complete without him. My theme song in my quest for good Christian music is Norman's "Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music?" |

Great song... he is simply great... took me many years to like him though, at first he was just not what I was into... but over the years I have learned to understand how good he really is. Reason why I didn't like him is because I am more into Hard Rock/Metal... but my taste has changed a bit over the years. |

Greetings all from a newbie ol'time Jesus Rocker! I've seen LN several times - first time @ Jesus '79 here in Ontario. The last time i seen him was @ Cornerstone 2K. And several times in between. Each time leaving with a sense of having witnessed greatness lyrically speaking. He is by far the granddaddy of Christian Rock and the one to whom all other Christian rockers owe a debt of gratitude. Hi! My name is Tim DeMoss. I’m a disc jockey from Pennsylvania and am in the process of writing Larry Norman’s biography. While I have a lot of material from interviews, time spent with Larry, and so forth, I believe a great way to tell his story is to invite others (like yourself) to share their stories of Larry as well. I did a “Yahoo” search, and your link was one of those listed, so I wanted to extend the invitation to you to contribute. Personal interactions, concert experiences, how his music affected you and your friends/family, rumors you may have heard, questions you may have—those are all examples of how you might participate. The details and background are at http://www.thelarrynormanstory.com. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Please also feel free to forward this on to anyone you believe would a) like to submit their thoughts or questions or b) simply be made aware of the biography’s progress and completion. Thanks very much! Sincerely, Tim DeMoss timmyd@wordfm.org timmyd@safeplace.net |

Howdy ya'll! I'm the drummer for an old Christian band by the name of Liberation Suite. We played with Larry 3 times over the course of 20 years...twice at the Royal Albert Hall in London and once in Germany. I've got some stories for you. ;-P |

My wife and I took my oldest daughter with us to see Larry Norman in Fairfield, OH in 1999. My wife started to cry when Larry sang, "I Wish We'd All Been Ready", and my insightful 6-year-old daughter asked why she was crying. When her mother explained how she didn't want any of her children left behind to face God's judgment without Jesus, Stephanie gave her life to Jesus at that moment of the concert.
Larry's music still brings people to the foot of the cross, four decades on.
As a side note, we could have had a late-night dinner with Larry if we'd stuck around (we left when the concert ended, as it was getting late for our girl). The host of Silent Witness Radio took him to the local Denny's (now defunct), and we could have had dinner with Larry! I kick myself every now and again about that.
Peace,
Jeff |
