I manage Christian rocker Joshua Perahia (guitar virtuoso from the hard rock band Joshua). To save on our budget, I opted to try making a Christian themed music video for the band rather than paying an outside party to do so. Just was hoping to get some feedback since this was the first time I've really ever made a music video. This is the title song from his album "Something to Say." I've tried to place it here in this message, but if it does not appear, it can be viewed at:

Thanks for your time and have a blessed day!

Thanks for the link SBL.

Welcome to Tri-Rock.  I watched the video and I really liked the music.  I am not really into videos anymore, so I don't have much feedback on the vid.  BUT, the song sounds GOOD, and that is what counts with me.

Did I see JP links on other sites????  Also, watched other JP songs on "THE TUBE".

Take Care

Hi David,

Joshua, or JP as you say, is all over the internet! He's all over YouTube.com, GodTube.com, his own page at http://www.myspace.com/joshuaperahia (please drop by for a visit) , and thousands of articles and features on him all over the internet (let alone all the print press he's gotten over the past 25 years).

He's getting ready to record a new album in a few months with none other than Jeff Fenholt on vocals!

Cheers mate!

I enjoyed it. Good first effort.
Do you mean to say you "produced" it, "directed" it or "engineered" it? Or all of the above for that matter? Maybe did all the post work on your PC?
Am I correct in amusing it was comprised entirely of stills and was that by design, availible material, or were there some limitations that kept you from using other content?

Love & Peace,

Hi David,

Thanks for your post. I guess you could say I produced, edited, directed, and all that good stuff. And yes, I did it all on my laptop using Microsoft Movie Maker (I learned how to use the program making this..lol) As far as the photos I used, obviously there's a few Michaelangelos and classic Renaissance paintings in there which I left in their original form. About 1/2 the photos I actually shot myself (photography is one of my hobbies) and treated them in Adobe PhotoShop, mostly using the posterization process. The remaining photos I got from stock / public domain photo sites and then treated those in PhotoShop as well to, well, make them "my own".

While I have since done actual videos of the band using live footage from concerts and in the studio (they are all posted on YouTube, MySpace, and GodTube), when I made this it was pretty much off the cuff. I was bored one night and decided I wanted to learn how to use MovieMaker (although this did take about a week to make since I treated each individual photo and had to take pics on top of that). So the limitations was that I didn't have any live footage of the band handy that wasn't already used in a video, I decided to just use stills and use photos that fit each line of the song. When I showed in to Joshua, he literally got all teared up and asked if he could use it for an actual promotional video......and considering we're on a minimal budget, I said why not!

So there ya have it, The "Making of Something to Say" lol

Thanks for taking the time to watch and for your questions.

Peace and blessings,
Steve
