Ok i have to admit I listen to a lot of diffrent types of music but when it comes to 70's music I am picky. I was born in 75 so I missed this decade pretty much.
As I got older and my Dad rubbed of on me i did get into some 70's music and do still listen to some bands but in the "Christian" side of that era I know very little about it so recommend some bands to me, I have a slow dial up so I don't get to listen to Tri Rock a lot so if I put in a 70's request make it worth it.
I like from the 70's
Kiss
Styx
Van Halen
ELO
Boston
Black Sabbath
Deep Purple
Rainbow
Led Zepplin

I am familiar with Rez they are good but not quite my preference.
So educate me

What a great find. This band Sir Lord Baltimore was not considered a Christian Band, but the guy writing the music always was. So lot of the songs were great songs with great lyrics... and now after all these decades, they finally got their 3rd Album out... and it is considered to be Christian -

link is - http://www.sirlordbaltimore.com/

I just went to see Larry Norman in concert on the 12th of August 2006 this month.

It was awesome, but he looked so tired and worn out. I'm thankfull I got to hang out with him, go to the BBQ the next day after... he even sang at the BBQ, it was at his brothers house. Got to meet so many people around the world who came. We even designed one of the T-shirts... it sold really well. I seen so many wearing it. Wished you all could have been there with us. What a blessing it was.

LARRY NORMAN Benefit CONCERT

LARRY NORMAN Benefit CONCERT

SATURDAY - AUGUST 12th, 2006 in Salem Oregon,
USA

Last year we put on a concert at The Elsinore
Theatre. It was a very expensive venue, but the
church in Beaverton couldn't take the concert so we
looked around Salem for a large hall and that was
The Elsinore. Because of the high costs charged by
The Elsinore we had to charge high ticket prices.
This year we have scaled down the ticket prices
because of the lower costs of the hall.

THE CONCERT STARTS AT SIX O'CLOCK PM (6:00
pm). It will end about 8:30 or 9:00 for parents who
have to get their children up for church in the
morning. The three hour concert will include multi-
media: A short film, surprise guests, Larry solo and
Larry with the band, Guards Of Metropolis.

On Sunday (the next day) we will have a Band House
Barbecue. There is a private party the next day
starting in the afternoon and, if the weather is
amenable, going until the Police raid the party like
last year. There will be great, great food prepared
by our favorite chef and his merry little helpers.
There will be a short church service and Bible Study.
It is for both parents and children. There will be an
auction of Larry's guitars, awards, rare T-shirts,
posters, unreleased CDs and stage clothing. We
might even auction off Larry's car. We are having
trouble keeping apace with Larry's medical
expenses. That's why this is a Benefit Concert. The
auction is not a garage sale. You can go online and
look at some of the items available in a few weeks.
(larrynorman.com)

MUSIC SEMINAR
On Monday there will be a Solid Rock School.

Jason Carter Seminar:
At 12:00 Jason Carter will be giving drum lessons
and tips and share a few stories from the session
he went to in Hollywood where Phil Collins was
recording an album, being the drummer in the
McDonald's touring band .........

Silver Sorenson Seminar:
At 1:30 an amazing bass player, classically trained
but recording and touring in the rock band: Silver
Sorenson will be giving bass guitar lessons,
pointers on how to play professionally and will be
joined by Jason Carter to show how recording
artists create bass and drum patterns which need to
be "synchronized" to emphasize certain beats (one
of the most common errors young bands make,
because they're not aware of the professional
techniques.)

Charles Norman Seminar:
At 3:00 Charles Norman will give guitar lessons
(good for both beginners and advanced guitar
players) talk about his recording sessions, (perhaps
his relationship with Guns and Roses and
recordings with Dizzy) explain both acoustic guitar
and electric guitar and the professional use of an
amp and how to record in the studio. An invaluable
seminar for those who don't even play an
instrument but want to record in the studio as a
singer . . . joined on stage by Jason and Silver to
demonstrate various approaches to performing and
recording.

Larry Norman Seminar:
At 5:00 Larry is giving two seminars which will
attempt to cover the whole music industry from
signing a contract, how to get concerts, how to
perform onstage, how to record in the studio, vocal
projection for public speaking, short cuts to
songwriting, Paul McCartney, Bono, recording a
concert performance.

There will be a folder of printed literature for each
class, legal recording contracts, legal management
contracts and other things you'd have to pay a
lawyer for. You will get them for free.

Go online to LarryNorman.com to see which Larry
Norman Seminars features which subjects.

All Day Seminar Ticket:
This will cover all of the Seminars, any food or
drinks served, private conversation with the artists.
You won't have to leave the building. Rare and
unreleased items will be available to those who stay
all day. We have only a few copies of some of these
items so we're not showing them to everyone. (They
will be removed from the table when the
Seminar ticket holders re-enter the room.)

Directions etc. will be mailed to you with the
ticket(s). A complete map of the venue with address
etc. will be posted on the web-site in the next
couple of weeks. Please allow two weeks processing
time for your tickets. If you order your ticket(s) late
we will make them available for pick-up at the
venue. Tickets will be sold on the web-site until
August 10th or we are sold out.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact
us and we will help in any way we can.

Thank you and God bless you.

Kristin and the Solid Rock Family

http://www.LarryNorman.com

Kristin@LarryNorman.com

Phone# 503 391 1175

Solid Rock Production
3760 Market Street NE PMB # 306
Salem, OR 97301
USA

I know that it's already been discussed about which band you like the most from the Jesus movement. Well, I would like to ask what your favorite song from the Jesus movement is and would you please share the lyrics? I love reading lyrics from different songs and I think it would be neat to read a bunch of different lyrics from the Jesus movement.

My favorite is the following:

Artist: Petra
Title: Grave Robber

There's a step that we all take alone
An appointment we have with the great unknown
Like a vapor this life is just waiting to pass
Like the flowers that fade, like the withering grass
But life seems so long and death so complete
And the grave an impossible potion to cheat
But there's One who has been there and still lives to tell
There is One who has been through both heaven and hell
And the grave will come up empty-handed the day
Jesus will come and steal us away

(Chorus)
Where is the sting, tell me where is the bite
When the grave robber comes like a thief in the night
Where is the victory, where is the prize
When the grave robber comes
And death finally dies

Many still mourn and many still weep
For those that the love who have fallen asleep
But we have this hope though our hearts may still ache
Just one shout from above and they all will awake
And in the reunion of joy we will see
Death will be swallowed in sweet victory

When the last enemy is done from the dust will come a song
Those asleep will be awakened - not a one will be forsakened
He shall wipe away our tears - He will steal away our fears
There will be no sad tomorrow - there will be no pain and sorrow
